Tesco’s new store in Pendleton was officially opened on the 15th November 2012 by Sharron Davies and 10 year old Ethan Evans, the young boy who is aiming to raise £10,000 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital cancer unit by swimming 1.5miles next February.

Sharron and Ethan did the grand opening at 10am when they cut the ribbon to open the store, and Tesco kindly gave Ethan a cheque for £500 for the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital plus a £50 gift card for himself to spend in the store.

With the cheque from Tesco this will take Ethan over the £3000 towards the £10,000 he aims to raise by February

Sharron Davies MBE also brought along a signed GB T Shirt to the delight of Ethan.
