Team Christie open up in fine form at first Outdoor competition of the season

There were some great performances at the NTC/Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Florida at the weekend. This competition complements pre-season training in Florida giving the athletes the chance to compete in different events to test out speed and endurance, after a period of transition from the winter Indoor season to the Outdoor season.

In the men’s 100m Nigel Levine and Luke Lennon-Ford posted some sharp times of 10.62s and 11.03s respectively. Nigel also ran a superb 200m in a time of 20.92s, just 0.1s off his personal best.

In the 400m, Margaret Adeoye opened with a strong performance of 52.85s, finishing 4th in her heat. She also featured in the 100m posting a time of 11.64s. Greg Cackett similarly tested out a different event featuring in the Men’s 400m. He posted a solid time of 48.91secs after a spell of injury and illness.
