There were some great performances at the NTC/Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Clement Florida at the weekend, and despite it being very early in the season the athletes have begun to chase down the qualifying times for this year’s Commonwealth Games and European Championships.

In the women’s 400m Margaret Adeoye finished 1st in a time of 52.89secs. This performance shows Margaret’s consistency through the past few months and the win will help her to gain confidence to chase the Commonwealth and European qualifying times.

Nigel Levine finished 2nd in a time of 46.20secs in the men’s 400m, behind teammate Conrad Williams who ran a time of 46.18secs. Nigel also competed in the 200m producing a time of 21.06sec.

Greg Cackett and Rion Pierre were also in action as they returned in the 100m to run 10.46secs and 10.44secs respectively, times which they will both be happy with as they have returned from a spell of illness and injury.
