Linford Christie will be competing for what could be an incredible 24th Major Championship victory this year, however it will not be on the running track. He will be going head to head with participants all over the World to add the title of World Ironing Champion to his long list of honours and is relishing the opportunity of competing. In an exclusive interview released today, the record breaking Olympic Gold Medallist revealed that he misses the challenge of competition and has launched himself back into a rigorous training regime in preparation for a world championship with a difference.

Linford set his standards high throughout his whole career and has no intentions of changing his mindset going into the Morphy Richards World Ironing Championships. He stated “If you train hard it’s all about the winning, if you don’t train hard its about the taking part. I don’t really want to take part, I am out here to win.”

The World Ironing Championships, in association with Morphy Richards’ social community ‘Home Of The House Proud’, are appealing to ironing specialists from across the globe, including police officers, fireman, ironing ladies and military personnel to send in a short film of their entry, which will be judged by the World Ironing ‘board’. The winner of each category will walk away with a cash prize and a coveted golden iron. To enter into the competition please visit www.homeofthehouseproud.com/world-ironing-championships
