Sprinter Libby Clegg is one of the nominees for the Sunday Times and Sky Sports Disability Sportswoman of the year.

Clegg, who is visually impaired, won Scotland’s first athletics gold in this summer’s Commonwealth Games alongside guide Mikail Huggins.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s awards ceremony, the 24-year-old told Sky Sports News HQ: “My most recent success was in Glasgow at the Commonwealth Games competing for Scotland where I won a gold medal in the t12 100m.

“It was very exciting and my first Commonwealth Games and so it was a new experience for me and I enjoyed every second of it.

“I never like to say that I would expect success, but I knew I had a really good chance of getting a gold medal as long as I didn’t mess up and put down a really good performance.”
