Iwan Thomas was in the lower mall outside M & S yesterday between noon and 3pm, hosting a series of interactive events as well as being on hand to offer advice and answer any training questions ahead of the race on June 5th.

Guests had the chance to ‘Beat the Athlete’ with the fastest 400m times on the day winning a host of prizes, including free entry to the Gatorade 10k. They were aiming for Iwan’s 400m treadmill time, which he recently recorded as 48 seconds.

This year the Gatorade 10K at Bluewater is celebrating its fifth anniversary and hopes to attract more than 4,500 participants across all levels, from the serious competitors to fun runners.

The race will start and finish at Bluewater, taking participants past the 50 acres of lakes and parkland surrounding the shopping complex and then onto Greenhithe and Stone.

Billed as a fun day out for all the family, the event also features a special 2K run and the official race village with plenty of entertainment and music for everyone to enjoy.

Bluewater is hoping to exceed last year’s £25,000 raised for charities, which included DGSM Your Choice and the Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets.
