Iwan Thomas launches BUCS Nationals in Sheffield

SHEFFIELD will host the United Kingdom’s largest multi-sport event next year when the BUCS Gatorade Nationals takes place in February.

BUCS – British Universities and Colleges Sport – will see around 6,000 student athletes compete across 12 sports at 10 venues in the city.

This year BUCS has split its individual events from its team competition finals. Sheffield will host the individual sports while Leeds will have a teams finals day in March.

The competition standards are high. Several members of Team GB at this summer’s Olympics took part in the BUCS Championships in Sheffield last year.
