David Haye signs for Quaker Oats National Ad Campaign

Hounslow resident, Irfan Malki is the star of a new national campaign from Quaker Oat So Simple, featuring boxing champ David Haye.

Current World Heavyweight Champion David Haye launches Quaker’s new campaign by surprising local boxing hero, Irfan Malik, with a revamped boxing club to say thank you for his outstanding contribution to the local community. Stunned boxing club owner Irfan, who built up Gallant Boxing club in Slough from scratch, will be made famous by Quaker’s new national TV campaign, airing from January 2011.

The advert, part of the Quaker Oat So Simple’s new campaign, ‘Make More of Your Morning’, reveals the moment newly crowned title holder Haye, visits the gym to unveil its revamp by the Quaker Oat So Simple team and thank Ifran for his hard work. Taxi driver Irfan has been running the gym in his garage for 3 years, giving up his spare time to offer boxing coaching for people of all ages from the local community, helping them improve their health and fitness as well as training for competitions.

Following the advert, Quaker’s Oat So Simple’s team will continue to help Irfan make a difference in his local community by providing a new and fully equipped training area.. Quaker’s ‘Make More of Your Morning’ campaign aims to reward those who make more of their mornings, and is calling on people around the country to nominate their local heroes to receive a visit from the Quaker team to thank them for their work. David Haye said: “The grass roots work Irfan has been doing at Gallant Boxing Club is making a real difference to the local community and young people in the area. It’s great to see him getting recognition and thanks from the Quaker Oat So Simple campaign. My own coach is a huge inspiration, helping me to become the world champion I am today.’
