Battling the pressure to succeed
Katharine is one of Britain’s most outstanding female
Athletes. Her Under 20 debut for Great Britain was at the
astonishingly young age of 13. The highlight of her success
on the track came in 2000, where she won the Olympic 400m
bronze in an outstanding race. Katharine retired after a
succession of serious injuries and now works in the media.
She is a true competitor and professional in everything
she does.
"I was the fastest schoolgirl in the world aged 14,
and then it took me 12 years until I became the fastest
woman in the world. Patience, determination and dedication,
as well as talent is what you need".
West Bromwich Allbion FC Community Programme
"Katherine clearly understood the connection between
the motivation and commitment needed for young people to
acheive in Education as well as Sport. Her ability to communicate
this meessage to a diverse cohort of inner city young people
was outstanding and i would have no hesitation in asking
her back to further develop her work with West Browmich
