Anyika has been a regular member of the British Track and Field team since her successes as a junior, which saw her dominate the junior rankings.
Winning English schools titles as both an intermediate (2001) and a senior (2002) her talent was clear from a young age. In 2002 she made her junior international debut running a pb of 11.86 for 2nd against France.
In 2003 Anyika won the AAA U20 200m both indoors and out and was 2nd in the indoor 60m and outdoor 100m. In the same year she was 3rd in the CAU 200m in 23.88w and ran 11.58w at the AAA U20s for 100m.
As a result of these performances she was selected to travel to Finland as part of Great Britain's European Junior team. Performing well through the rounds she was placed a respectable 5th in the final. She later ran the first leg of the silver medal winning 4x100m relay team. This was to become the first of many Major Championship medals.
